The Battle of Marathon

Lesson 71 of The Mystery of History (Volume I) is about "The Battle of Marathon," the famous fight between the Persians and the Greeks that took place on the plain of Marathon, about 25 miles from Athens.
After we read about this famous battle, we watched this neat documentary that uses gaming technology to recreate the fight.  It is in three parts, but in total it is under 25 minutes.  You can watch it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot4PusEalnA (Part 1) ...
... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPinrH-akvc (Part 2) ...
... and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng5diP1VISY#t=427.981562 (Part 3).  Maggie enjoyed it.
After the documentary, we dressed some soldiers on the scene of this battle in our Usborne Sticker Dressing: Soldiers sticker book (pages 2-3).
Looks great, Mags!  Note the helmets of the Greek soldiers on the right.
Below is an actual Corinthan helmet found at the Battle of Marathon with the warrior's skull still inside.  (This is on display in a museum in Toronto.)
We love MOH!
