In today's history lesson (The Mystery of History, Volume I, Lesson 15), we talked about Joseph. Joseph is one of my favorite Biblical characters and Maggie already knows his story well. (We covered Joseph before when we studied The Rag Coat in a book study (http://homeschoolingmom2mags.blogspot.com/2014/03/the-rag-coat.html) and at other times as well (see http://homeschoolingmom2mags.blogspot.com/2013/02/to-moon.html and http://homeschoolingmom2mags.blogspot.com/2012/04/today-was-busy-and-busy-was-good.html).)
After our reading from our text, we read Stories from the Bible: Joseph's Coat of Many Colors retold by Kathryn Smith ...
While she watched the film, I made her the "Colorful Coat Snack" I've made her before with a piece of toast cut into the shape of a coat, cream cheese, and Airheads XTREMES Sweetly Sour Candy in Rainbow Berry flavor.
I think the last one I made looked better ...
... but she was still happy with it!
Once the movie was over, we got to work on our color "coat" (a tie-dyed T-shirt).
Next time, I will use more dye! I was afraid to douse it because I thought the colors would run, but this has way too much white on it.
And once laundered, our colors got even more dull, but she was tickled with it. I guess that's all that matters!
History is so much fun!
