Paper Strip Rainbows

I have been so bad at blogging lately, but I wanted to share a cute little project we did in our Bible study a while back.  We had been reviewing the story of Noah's Ark and God's reminder of His covenant with us, the rainbow.  (This is a picture of one of the worksheets Maggie completed.)
Well, in searching for fun rainbow crafts, I stumbled across a Paper Strip Rainbow at
http://fowlsinglefile.blogspot.com/2010/09/food-and-decorations-at-rainbow-party.html.  For the same, I used 1-inch wide strips of paper in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, as well as a stapler, scissors, a pencil, glue, and cotton balls.
First, I had Maggie measure the strips of paper, marking at the inch marks with her pencil.
Once our strips were marked, we cut off one inch from the orange, two inches from the yellow, three from the green, four from the blue, and five inches from the purple, so that each strip was only one inch shorter than the color above it in the rainbow.
We then stacked them in order, gathered them at one end, stapled, and then did the same to the other end.  This created separated arcs, like below.
Finally, we added "clouds" by gluing our cotton balls to each end.
All done!  Our Paper Strip Rainbow looks great!
Have a colorful day!
