A Lorax Party

So I am unbelievably behind on making a post, but that will be changing soon.  This is the first of two posts I'll be making tonight, unfortunately, this post was from an event that was almost a month ago now.  Nevertheless, it was so inspiring, I had to share.  It is from my best friend's son's birthday party, a Lorax party, and it was too cute not to share a few of her ideas.

The idea for the party was her son's, our buddy, Liam.  I was so impressed with his choice!
Hannah had gone all out with decorations (even wrapping feather boa-topped pool noodles with black tape to simulate Truffula trees) and snacks, including this cute bowl of colored Goldfish crackers.  (You can't see it because of the sign, but the scoop was a small fishing net!)  The kids also had pizza and punch!
For the drinks, Hannah had made these straws, complete with paper moustache to resemble the Lorax himself!
Here's Mags, wearing her Dr. Seuss shirt, right before her punch came tumbling out of her cup!
Our buddy, Amber, who dressed to impress!  Love her!  :)
Hannah also had stick-on moustaches for the kids to play with!  Here is the birthday boy himself, with big sister, Olivia, and their grandmother!  I love this shot!
For a fun activity, the kids made these Thing 1 and Thing 2 bookmarks, using large Popsicle sticks (or tongue depressors), crayons, markers, glue, blue feathers, and googly eyes.
Then, it was time for cake!  But instead of cake, Hannah made these cute Truffula Trees Cupcakes, with Orange Creamsicle-flavored frosting, and tufts of cotton candy atop these cool drinking straws she found!
 So fun!
 The birthday boy, digging in!
After cake, we hit the piñata!  Here is Mags, trying her best!
Once the kids were hot and loaded up with piñata treats, they came in so Liam could open his presents.  Here is ours (I couldn't resist!), made simply with solid orange wrapping paper and pieces of scrapbooking paper, adhered onto it.
A close-up of my Lorax!
After the presents were opened, Hannah sent the kids home with these adorable candy moustaches she made (all of the ingredients, including the yellow candy wafers, moustaches mold, confectionary plastic baggies and ties can be purchased at Michael's craft store) ...
... and these little bags of "Truffula Seeds" pastel chocolate candies!  So cute, Hannah!
What a great party for a sweet boy!  Happy Birthday, Liam!
